Hi,
I bought some new blue jeans and washed it in cold water (using Ultra Tide with Downey fabric softener included in the detergent) along with my new hoodie (which is 20% polyester and 80% cotton)...and I think the blue from the denim stained my brand new hoodie with blue streaks!!! Anyway to remove the blue stains?? It's ALL over my shirt. Thanks!
The hoodie is brown with very intricate black detailing. I've heard that using commercial stain removers like "Shout" will actually bleach my brown hoodie?!?!
what to do? It's a very expensive hoodie that I've only worn twice!
Thanks a lot!

Yep! I washed in in the cold cycle with the jeans.
I line dried the hoodie...because of the dark brown colour, I couldn't see the blue streaks until the hoodie dried. Right now I'm soaking the hoodie in a little bit of soap water.
You guys sure the commercial stain remover won't make my dark brown hoodie come out light brown?
Thanks a lot everyone! :)

There's a product called TECH. Not the easiest to find, but it will remove any stain! Give it a try. You can use it on anything. It's safe.

As long as the hoodie hasn't been through the dryer go to the store and look for dye remover color run correcter in the cleaning aisle. They will be near the stain removers but will be in much smaller bottles or packages. I prefer Carbona's brand. You can also try soaking the hoodie in an Oxy Clean solution. It is safer than bleach, but check it often and pull the hoodie out when you see the blue streaks gone.

Hopefully you didn't put the hoodie in the dryer and it's still wet. I've used stain removers for a long time and they've never stained my clothes. It's your best chance. Spray it and wash it again. If it's been through the dryer already then the stains have probably set. When using stain remover, wash using hot water. God Bless

Wash it in oxiclean and the stain will come out. First let it set in the oxiclean and water for about 1/2 hr then wash and rinse. I hope you did not dry it in the dryer, but try the suggestion anyway. Good Luck!

I would try Oxyclean before using color remover. READ the directions on the color remover first. They are all different. If the Oxyclean does not get out the color, your only option will be to use the color remover.
Good luck. Always wash jeans alone the first time.

It may be stained from the fabric softener, not the jeans. I know, it sounds crazy, but I just washed brand new sheets by themselves with detergent and fabric softener and they came out all streaky and stained...Bummer, huh?

I like Oxi Clean. Mix it up with water and soak your hoodie. And remember this pain the next time you wash new denim! :)

Try Rid Dye Remover, you can find it in most grocery and Wal-Mart type stores in the clothing color dye section.
