If you can't get them off to college, set hard curfews and lock them out if they don't meet them. They'll get fed up and want to leave. You can offer to pay their first month's rent on an apartment too.

Kick them out. There's places they can go....
Or you can give them a dead line to get a job. Once they reach that, help them find an apartment. And help them move. Some are able to do this stuff on their own, others are afraid of being out on their own so they try not to leave the "nest". By helping them along the way but not doing it for them, it'll help them gain self confidence that they're able to make it on their own. Also try to help them figure out how to budget and pay bills if they don't already know.
Good luck!

I don't think teens should get out of the house. I think with the cost of living today young people are staying at home longer. As long as they work or go to school....are not disrespectful to you or their home.......they should contribute a small amount to the house......understand they don't have a maid. I don't see a problem.

Tell them they have to start paying rent if they are going to stay at home. Also, make them pay half of all the other bills, too. They'll wise up once they realize they have to pay for it, but it's not "theirs". Trust me.

How do you expect a teenager to make enough money to be able to live on their own, I mean what kind of parent are you? It's ultimately your home, so you need to make it clear that they are no longer welcome to live there, but I really feel this will hurt your relationship with your children.
