beltran is a definite possibility.

pujols has been nothing but mortal the last couple of months...a terrific player, but the cards season has been a bit of a lull.

howard is terrific young player as well, currently leading the league in homers and rbi but he is playing for a philly team that probably will finish under .500 and its very rare a player can win a mvp on a non winning team when there are other viable candidates on winning teams.

as for beltran, he is not leading the league in any one category, but he is amongst the leaders in virtually every offensive category, he is playing gold glove caliber defense and is also a stolen base threat. although his season is light years ahead of last year, i think garciaparra probably gets the comeback award over beltran.

if the season were to end right now, i think carlos wins the mvp.

I vote for Carlos Beltran and I think the Mets are this year's World Series Champs with Beltran a very possible Series MVP.

He would be deserving if he won, as would Pujols, Howard, with some consideration to Reyes and Wright as well.

This is very tight, and too early to call.

Beltran may be the victim of other votes going to teammates Wright and Reyes. I'd take Carlos of the three (thus far), but it's close.

Pujols is the best player in the league. If the Cards somehow don't win the Central, he won't win. Otherwise, he's still my front-runner.

Howard may end up leading the NL in hr's and rbis --if he does so and the Phils take the wild card, he'll get the mvp.

Howard. Beltran and Reyes will split the Mets vote.

Beltran? Reyes? What about DAVID WRIGHT!

But anyway, my National League vote is for Phat Albert.
