Seriously! Why do some conservatives assume that anyone who hates Bush must hate the USA, too? After all, Bush isn't America, and America isn't Bush. For that matter, he doesn't even represent the majority of Americans. His approval ratings prove it! By the way, I'm a liberal Democrat, and I LOVE THE USA!!!:)

smcin728: I know that Bush isn't autonomous. That's why he has the likes of Dick, Condi, and Rummy by his side. I don't care if he is the president. I refuse to support him, because everything he stands for is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! Despite what some may like to believe, dissent IS patriotic! Imagine how differently history would have turned out if more Germans had openly disagreed with Hitler!

Raylene D: Bush was NOT elected by more people than any other president in US history. And besides, I thought your argument was that our country was run on elections, not popularity contests? Sure, you tried to use the argument that Bush was elected, but you also tried to use the numbers to indicate his popularity. By the way, since you insist that we should support the president, I have to ask you if you were as supportive of Clinton. Or are you one of those who think that getting a head job from someone other than your wife is a much more serious offense than sending thousands off to die in a war that was based on a lie?

Because some conservatives are extremists, just as some liberals are. It's best to take them for what they're worth, which isn't much, considering that most of America is close to the center.

It is real easy to figure out, They listen to Rush Limbaugh and everyday about 10 after two he says liberals hate America. He continues and will say it again about 7 more times in he 3 hour show, He probably has it on his web sight. The conservatives are the most mentally diminished of the population so what Rush says is taken by the gullible to be fact. So the repeat it here every chance that they get. Pretty soon you have repuke's from all over the net saying it like they believe it. Another one to watch for this election is the cut and run. It will come up a million times as the repuglican party practices it politics of hate.

Why do some liberals assume that anyone who doesn't think like they do is a religious extremist? My dear, regardless of which side of the political spectrum you are on, people have opinions. Some are just more emphatic about theirs than others. You are right. Bush is not America and vise versa. But neither is Bush autonomous. The decisions are not his to make alone. Wouldn't it be so much better for everyone if we stood together as unified Americans and supported all our leaders rather than blast them because we happen to be of a different political affiliation?

"Patriotism is standing by the country, not the president."-Theodore Roosevelt
Bush is an ***, and he uses propaganda to trick people into being on his side.
Examples. After 9/11 it was "your with us or against us." Then "Do you prefer the war in Iraq or a mushroom cloud over New York City."
The "debate" he's willing to have is between options of his choosing... It's like us saying, "which do you prefer, admitting your wrong, or tearing this country apart?"

Maybe it's a recruitment tool. Get every rep politician and talk show host to constantly accuse everyone exept reps of hating America and the saps will jump on the "patriotic" party.. No real American hates the U.S.

Because they are mentally challenged they are known to NOT be able to think outside of the box.
I have the perfect solution for them: A vacation to the paradise that they and their supporters have created: Where they will be met with flowers and dancing in the streets - IRAQ!
Or a one-way ticket to that other paradise in the sky - MARS!

Thank you for saying some. People are weird. They just have to let their voices be heard , it stems from ignorance. people tend to think that just because others don't think or believe the way they do then they are a terrible person. It's stupid. people like that are shallow. Don't worry them.

By the way good for you! :0) I love the USA too!!

Vietnam was a 55,000 US troops killed quagmire,,,, over 3,000 Americans have died in Iraq but 20,000 are amputees,, that's not counting the brain damaged,,, because of medical technology,, hundred's of thousands of Iraqis have died,,, and thousands injured,,, we will never know exactly how many, because we took their government down along with Saddam,,, how will the decent Americans get the Bush team to realize that the neocons he is allowing to run this country into hell will never make us stronger,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

well that's funny in a way because if you hate bush then you basically love America so much that you cant take it anymore that your country has been i n a sense hijacked by crazy religious fundamentalists who are seemingly trying to take over the world one middle eastern country at a time. anyone who likes George bush would actually be hating America simply by judging that they like a person who is crippling their economy killing thousands overseas and ruining the environment so that most of our grand kids will die of asthma at the age of 20 but thanks George bush you had a hell of a nickname!

There's really no difference between Republican and Democrat anymore.

I'm very conservative, but Bush doesn't represent me. I realize that dissent is patriotic.

You're referring to NEO-cons, who want to stifle people's First Amendment rights (though liberals have their own way of wanting to stifle freedom of speech).
