Is this true? Dolphins are dumb?

Studies of Chinese Scientists mentioned that Dolphins are stupid and dumb. >> and they do not have any back ups for this research.

I don't think that Dolphins are stupid. if they were, then training tricks would be impossible.

Dolphins are really magnificent animals and totally cute too. Yes, they do actually do tricks like many other animals of the world and can be conditionned to entertain humans but come on... they have to be smart because they are the only other mammals besides humans that enjoy sex and that's always a good thing right? That's true but not my point. My point is that any animal can be conditionned or trained if u will, in anything if humans did it correctly by starving them and making them do tricks. However some animals do seem to be really smart and humans do share genes with other creatures of the animal kingdom so it may be true... we just don't know too much about animals yet especially since we haven't really been able to make much progress for how smart humans can be^^

I don't know what those Chinese scientists were smoking! Dolphins have been studied extensively and they've been proven to be as smart as most apes, parrots and almost as smart as humans. They've been taught to speak a special language and some have even tried teaching them to speak English by using their blowholes. Unfortunately due to a dolphin's difficulty reproducing some sounds that study didn't go as well as hoped. They're now using special symbols to help handlers and dolphins communicate.

Dolphins are by other animal terms, intelligent...but I trained my rat in college to do things like "tricks"....I wouldn't consider it intelligent though.

I think (not sure though) that dolphins problem solve better than most other animals......
