trends seem to feed upon their dead every 20 years. In the seventies, the 50's were cool, hence "happy days". In the 80's, everyone was on coke! Hip hop was born, and disco was dead. I don't know if the 60's were cool again, I don't recall any shows from my childhood like "hangin wit the hippies" (but maybe that was the care bears and fraggle rock...) in the 90's, the 70's were cool, hence that 70's show. now the 80's are back, pastels and power ballads all. hooold on to those furbies, kids, in 10 years, someone might give half a shi+ again!

my theory is that today's fashion designers were kids/teens in the 80's so they're bringing back what they liked to wear back then. Fashion seems to go in 20-year cycles-bell bottoms were big in the 70's and did make a (thankfully) brief comeback in the 90's as "flares".

Fashion isn't invented, but recycled. I like the skinny pants, but could live without the sweaters and long shirts.

I have no idea. No one even liked 80's fashion the first time around.

It all has to do with the designers and whatever they have in mind. They're the ones that pass the trend down to consumers, so there's really no stop to it unless you're a designer yourself.

Fashion always makes a reappearnce if you don't kno the fashions of the past then your destined to repeat the wrongs of them.

That's cool. I am hoping to see the tight disco jeans make a comeback.

Because no one can think of a new style that hasn't been used before.

b/c people in the fashion world can't think of anything new. and i can't blame them. i mean there are only so many ways you can cover your body. history repeats itself. lol

cuz if you think about it, most of today's designers were teenagers in the '80s, so its what they're used to and what they liked.
