Jimmy was a bad little boy who always cried wolf, so when he cracked corn they didn't believe him therefor they didn't care

This was a slave song back in 1846. Written by a Virginia slave named Daniel Emmett who also wrote Dixie. Cracking Corn was an expression for cracking open a jug of moonshine. In this case his masters. The master found out, took off after Jimmy on his pony, the pony threw him and the master died. Thus Jimmy cracked open a jug of whiskey(corn liquor), master died chasing them(masters gone away) and I dont care(because he was a slave). Sad song really.
