This question is academic, for heaven and hell do not exist. Tom Sawyer told his Aunt Polly in novels that he didn't want to sit on a cloud playing a harp forever, and I agree with Tom. The Christian heaven sounds like a bleak and grim place, so I wouldn't want to go there...as I told Dad when he said I couldn't go to heaven if I didn't do what he wanted. I dreamed I went to heaven when I was age nine or so. Few people were there, and they were all thrown out the first day. Few people realize what I knew so young. If there were heavens, I'd take the Moslem version with 72 houris to serve me sexually, rather than the bleak Christian one that allows no pleasures.

hmmm one would say heaven because alot of people think we are in hell now. I would choose heaven but hope that heaven is a place where you feel no pain and get to see the ones you love and have missed.

Neither. Because I can count higher than two, I believe that the little two-level afterlife you describe is trivial.

Try to imagine something more profound than just heaven and hell. Before you know it, you'll be counting to three and beyond. When you can do that, the universe will open to your mind and you can grow out of the tiny adolescence of the heaven-hell myth.

This very question came up in a family discussion not long ago when my brother informed me that since I am a Catholic, I am going to hell. His church teaches that Catholics are not able to go to hell...he didn't tell me why though.

Anyway...I thought about it for a bit and then said..."If that is true, then Mom is in hell because she was a catholic and Dad is there also because he would be with Mom and he was getting more involved in the activities of our local Catholic church. So if Mom and Dad are in hell because of the Catholic deal then I will be more than happy to go there with them. You can go to heaven..missing Mom and Dad."

He didn't say anything..then said.."I have to think about this."

I dunno. I kind of like Earth, even though its kind of crumbly. Gotten attached to it, I guess, even though I've always felt as if I were "faking" life. But I'm not sure this is a philisophical question. Seems to have more religious overtones to it. Heaven, the several levels of it, what was it called? the Ceil? the Celestial something? the Firmament? That sort of place? Rather than Sheloh? Shilo? Death? That sort of thing? the Lake of Fire?

I hope for heaven, but I deserve hell

Neither. there aint no heaven or hell. For some people this is a heaven on Earth ..While for some, its a living hell
Me? I am going to be reincarnated. As to what as, I believe that depends on my behavier on Earth.. Similar to Bhudist belief,

I've never been to heaven so I want to go there. I've already been to Hell however, it's known as life with my husband. Believe me no one wants to go there.

well heaven may be hell to some and vice-versa. it would depend on what each was consistent of. right now i would say i would rather go someplace that actually exists as apposed to this "fantasy land" of eternal pain vs. pleasure.

to be honest, neither. hell, from what i hear is not a nice place, and heaven sounds pretty boring. i mean, no matter where you are, its ETERNITY. I would rather just die and not have an afterlife.
