You have to get a good male beta that blows lots of bubbles at the surface of the water. Once there is a bunch of bubbles, remove the male from the water, careful not to disturb the bubbles. Then place a female beta in the tank, she will then lay her eggs inside of the bubbles. Let her stay in there for like a week after she has layed the eggs. Take the female out of the water and place the male back in the water. The male will raise the baby betas. (The female will eat them). But make sure to seperate the males (babies) after awhile.

Alright, here it is.
Make sure you have baby brine shrimp to feed the fry. You can get them at some pet stores.
In a very warm (85F) tank where you already have your male, you place the female in an enclosure for a few days for the male to get used to being around her, and for her protection. The male will build a bubble nest for the eggs.
Then under close supervision, you can release the female. They should mate right away, and it will look like he's killed her, but she's only stunned. She'll release an egg and the process will continue for a while. He will take the eggs into his mouth to put them into the nest. When it looks like they will start fighting, take her out and put her back in her own tank or jar. Leave the male in the tank with the fry, he will take care of them until after they hatch.
Then you wait. DO NOT FEED THE MALE! This is very important because if you feed him, he will eat the fry. He will be fine until you take him out, which is when the fry hatch and can eat on their own, in about a week to ten days.
Follow the feeding directions for the brine. When you start to see a male developing, take him out and put him in his own jar. This will cause another to develope, do the same with him and so on, and you will get a few showy males.

Good Luck!!! It's a lot of work!!

Pet stores mostly sell male veiltail bettas, so make shure you dont put two males together. (MALES HAVE LONG FLOWEY FINS, FEMALES HAVE SHORT ONES). There is a lot to breeding bettas, so i'll mention a few things, but then i'll give you a totally awsome webstie! Get a healthy male, who blows big bubble nest's(cut a styrefoam cup in half and let it float in there, he'll blow bubbles in there). Make shure the female can see him, and the male can see her. If he dosent make his nest in a day or two, tape a picture of a male betta on the tank. (oohhh, he's got competition!!!) When the female shows verticle lines, and the bubblenest is big, and the male flares at her, unite them. Breeding will include a little sparring and ripped fins.(if they fight badly, remove them!!) It takes one or two days to spawn, and male wraps himself around her, under the nest squeezing the eggs out. He'll fertilize them and put them in the nest with his mouth. They repeat this a few times. After mommy swims awway, from the nest remove her. Leave daddy cuz he takes care of the kids untill they swim vertically. Feed them micr-worms, and other small live foods. Go to http://www.bettatalk.com for more info!

You have to have a make and a female of course in seperate tanks. You have to wait for the male to make a bubble nest. This is how you know when he is ready to mate. There will be tiny air bubble in patches across the top of the water. When this happens you add the female to his tank and woatch them carefully. She will get attacked by him and may need your heklp to get out. If they successfully mate when you see her release her eggs you remove her right away. Put her back in her tank. She will need a few days to recover. It's all up to him after that he will take the eggs and put one in each bubble. That's where the eggs will stay until they hatch. At that time you will need to feed them tiny little brine shrimp until they are about 1/2 inch long and can eat regualr pellets. Also at this time you will need to put each of them in a seperate tank. If you cannot get yuor amke to nest try and change his diet. Especially id you only give him pellet food. Try giving him some dried bloodworms or shrimp. You'll probably wake up the next day and he will have made a nest. Good luck
