I read this in a magazine article about insomnia, and it always works for me.
Starting with the letter "A," try to think of someone famous whose first and last name start with that letter ("Alan Alda" for example), then move on to the next letter. Sometimes I mix it up a little, like first name "A" and last name "B," then first name "B" and last name "C." For some reson, it takes your mind off the "can't fall asleep" track and lets you focus on something else.

SO DO I! It's really annoying actually...It takes me more than 45 minutes to fall asleep. I don't know what it is. Stress? You can take sleeping pills. Think about something that relaxes you, not something that stresses you up or keeps you alert. Just something that calms you down. Try it out. It usually works.

Many factors to this problem as I too had experienced.
Your work schedule, diet, physical exercise, and stress maybe a leading factor. Of course if it does continue I would see a doctor, they know you better than I do. I have found certain foods and caffiene will keep you from falling asleep.

stop all caffine intake by noon so its out of your system by 10 pm
then about 45 mins before your bedtime turn off the computer take a hot slow shower, get in bed and read or draw...it helps calm your brain down then just move slow dont have many lights on no loud music and turn off the fone and tc...just chill for a little while drink some HOT milk and lay on your side...dont think about your day cuz that will excite your brain and you need REM sleep and having a busy brain will ***** that up

lay off the caffeine 2 hours before bed, try relaxing and take a nice warm bath or shower before bed time, try not to think of things, if I do Im up all night long. If it continues,I'd go see your doctor, might know what to give you to make you drowsey to fall asleep..

u can try reading a book, or playing a game or sumthin
i do that for 30 minutes, and then i fall asleep instantly

try to work out first before you go to sleep..
and then take a shower with warm water..
if still isnt working then you go to drink a warm chocolate..
then hear an instrumental music/music for stress..
if its not working,
go to the doctor!

Try Aluna, its a natural sleep agent, over the counter.........if that doesnt work, ask your Doctor for sleep medication!...........I suffer from insomnia for the last 10 years................After a while your body gets used to your irregular sleep pattern!
