Absolutly not, you may also ask "is the sun going to burn out during our generation?" The metal is still there, but the mainstream music we hear now that some may classify as heavy metal is not the heavy metal that you and I have been listening to. People with revolutionary new ideas for heavy metal instrumental creations are sitting on them all over the place in every place you could imagine, but hollywood is not feelin that right now, these guys have to get the sh!t done themselves. That's not easy when you gotta come up with thousands of $ to produce a marketable cd when all you wanna do is drink, smoke, scream and play sh!t. But don't worry, once in a while one breaks in, like the sperm in the egg thing, just one, and then all hell breaks loose.

You know, they're playing the heavy metal bands on the radio today that I couldn't hear on the radio back in the 80's - and I'm not talking about the glam-rock hair bands. So I think that's what's happening now - the good heavy metal bands are out there, you just have to find them. Heavy metal for some reason is scarry "especially during a conservative government rule", but will never die!

Depend what you mean by dying.
Sure - no metal groups have had any chart success for a while (I blame Linkin Park) butthe underground scene is still alive and kicking.
There are plenty of new metal groups popping up around the place. In Australia, the metal scene is experiencing a huge revival. Most of the new stuff I've heard from the US isn't too good.
Remeber Lordi too, Finland is starting to get back into the game, and you can always fall back on Norway and Sweden. They'll always be metal, even elevator music over there is metal.

I miss the true heavy metal! It's going to make a rockin' come back stronger than ever. My brother-in-law is in a heavy metal band and they stay true to the genre.

no, i dont think heavy metal is dying. with there being so many genres now, so many different "heavy" metal songs are scattered out amongst many genres because of the different styles of heavy metal instead of all metal styles being classified into the same genre like they used to be...heavy metal is there, you just have to look in the right spot.
