yes, who really cares what france thinks, I know I don't.
they are the only reason we know we are not really at a world war, they have not surrendered to someone yet.
Let the US pull thier troops out of the middle east, africa, europe and say heck let the UN do it, and see how fast they world would beg us to bring our troops back.

An even more important quality is admitting that you're DEAD WRONG and modifying your stance until you're on the right track. That's not caving in, it's being a good leader. So bottom line - I would prefer a president who was determined but not obstinate. Unfortunately, Bush is the latter.

I think the premise of your question is incorrect. In my view he has already caved in several times.
To name the most recent was pressuring the Israeli's to call off the counter assault on Hezbolla. Not only was this a cave in to the French and other Euro-weenies it is counter to his stated objective of waging a war against terrorism.
Next recent was allowing the French et al. axis of weasel represenatives to stall putting sanctions on Iran. We all know sanctions only serve to allow the French, Germans, Russians and Chinese to exclude competitors from the Iranian market. Just as they used the sanctions on Iraq to line their pockets including represenatives of the U.N.
One thing a leader has to be to be successful is consistent, and to stay on track. I've seen some of this from Bush, but not enough. What I've seen too much from the President is sacrificing principle for political expediency. That's not leadership its pandering.

I would say that the quality is the sign of an idiot, but it's not. It's the sign of a man whose agenda has very rich and powerful people and corporations in mind He knows how to line his pockets and those of his friends. It's the sign of a man who has no morals.

Cave in on what? Israel?
Any idiot would realize that abandoning Israel in this manner would effectively doom them and us.
Some people love to parade their glaring stupidity like its a badge of honor...
Of course these same people are repulsed and shamed by someone who would dare to stand against them for a good cause.

He's no Churchill -- unfortunately; but he's no Chamberlain -- fortunately.
I wish he'd lock on to the Bush Doctrine!
