I'm contemplating on getting my carpet cleaned house cleaned before I sell my house. Are carpet cleaning and housekeeping services worth the money, or can I do just as good a job myself? I don't want to pay someone to clean, and then end up having to clean where they left off. Also, how much should I expect to pay to have my 1,800 sq.ft. house cleaned and its carpet cleaned? Thanks a million!

You will have a way better showing of the house, if the house is clean. No one wants to view a dirty house. You should have the house and the carpets cleaned. Plan to spend about $200 minimum to have it professinally cleaned. As for the carpets put aside an extra $100. Dont quote me on the total $300....cos your house might not be that bad and might cost a few dollars less. But if its very dirty you will have to pay more.

For sure go with the carpet cleaning. I'd use a cleaning service to get the kitchen and all bathrooms super clean. If money allows I'd have service to do weekly cleaning as well. You need to supervise and make sure they are cleaning what you want them to. Do not pay until you are satisfied.

I think you will be able to clean the house as good as anyone else. A professional will be good for the carpet. I think it will make a big difference in selling your house.

Clean carpets for sure. House cleaning is well worth it. Once you get a thorough cleaning done, you should be able to keep up with it during the listing. It should cost you app. $60-$75. Make sure they use lemon oil or pledge on all wood furniture. Some just come in with a feather duster.
