I dunno about usb, but my deck has "auxiliary in", so you can buy the wire, one end has the same connection as headphones, the other end has a left and right rca style connection. I plugged those rca connections into the back of my deck, and just run the other end out through my ash tray where I plug the mp3 player in, close the ash tray in a way that it grips the cord, and the mp3 player just sits there. The song names don't come up on the deck but it does play them. I just use it when there are a few new songs I want to hear, throw them on the mp3 player, listen to em, then press source to go back to your normal cd, and viceversa. My car is 13 years old and I do this, some of the newer vehicles like the dodge caliber have this built in.

Yeah they have car stereos with usb ports. I've seen them at some stores around my place. I don't know specific manufacturers though.

I had an associate who did that, except he had a really old car with a crap stereo. I never thought to ask him how he did it.
