Mine occurred about when I normally would have gotten my period. It looked like the very beginning drops of menstruation, only a little browner. I took the test that night and got a positive result.

I'm not and have never been pregnant...but I do know that implantation bleeding can happen at the time the fertilized egg implants in the uterus, on average between 6 to 12 days past ovulation. It is is vaginal discharge which usually contains a small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. Only about 1 in 3 pregnant women experience implantation bleeding. The cells that eventually form the placenta are called trophoblasts. Specialized trophoblasts, the syncitiotroblast, are responsible for developing an interface with the maternal circulatory system to provide nutrients and allow gas (oxygen and carbon dioxide) exchange to occur.Sometimes, while this interface is developed, some of the maternal blood is lost. This implantation bleeding is typically short in duration and quite light. Implantation bleeding is one of the early signs of pregnancy. A friend of a friend of mine has gotten pregnant and had this - just thought I needed to defend myself! lol.

It occurs about 6-12 days after ovulation, when the fertilized egg implants in the uterus. Only 1 in 3 women experience this. It looks like discharge with a bit of pink or red streaks-anything heavier is either a period or something the doctor should see. You would probably get a positive pregnancy test around this time, but I would wait until the day my period is supposed to come. Hope this helped a bit!

Implantation Bleeding
What does implantation bleeding look like?
Implantation bleeding is vaginal discharge which usually contains a small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. Only about a third of pregnant women experience implantation bleeding.
When does implantation bleeding usually occur?
It can happen at the time the fertilized egg implants in the uterus, on average between 6 to 12 days past ovulation.
Should I worry about implantation bleeding occurring?
Unless accompanied by cramping, backache or increased bleeding, a small amount of blood being discharged should be considered as implantation bleeding which is nothing to be concerned about.
If this is implantation bleeding, when can I test to see if I am pregnant?
Home pregnancy tests are based on a very simple principle. They work by through the detection of the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in a woman's urine. This hormone is a hormone secreted by the developing placenta shortly after a fertilized egg has been implanted in the uterine lining.
If a woman is pregnant, the amount of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in her system should be around 25 mIU at 10 dpo (days past ovulation), 50 mIU at 12 dpo, 100 mIU at around two weeks dpo. Because of their high sensitivity factor ( 20 mIU/ml hCG ) in detecting human hCG, both the AimStick pregnancy tests can confirm pregnancy as early as 6-8 days past ovulation. To help lower the chances of a false negative, the best time to test at 9 or 10 days past ovulation would be advisable.

IB (implantation bleeding) occurs around 6-12 days after conception... but not everyone gets it. IB is basically blood that's lighter than your period and is pinkish or brownish in color. IB is usually shorter than that of your menstruation (but that varies). It can take about 2 weeks for a pregnancy test done by blood to come back positive (it varies from pregnancy to pregnancy)... and an HPT can come back positive about 3 weeks or so (again it does vary). Hope this helps.
