My "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book says that month 5 is from weeks 18-22 and 6months is weeks 23-27. But some people say the 5th month starts at 20wks???? Which is it. I went by the book I mentioned above and it works out if I go from that until my due date of Jan. 2nd. Anyone know for sure.......this is my 1st pregnancy!!!!!!! it's a boy!

I guess it depends if they are counting from conception or from beginning of the next month. The thing to keep in mind is that babies aren't always born on time. So 18-22 is close enough.
At 21 weeks you are in the 5th month.

When the book mentions the pregnancy in terms of weeks, they are not taking into account the first two weeks after your last actual period; they are starting the count at the actual moment of conception. It is now pretty much standard practice for doctors to date the pregnancy from the first day of your last period. In a nutshell, the book is correct when counting from two weeks past your period.

Some months do have 5 weeks in them though. But at 21 weeks you are 5 months. You can create a ticker and know all the time.

Well depending on when your counting but you are in your 5th month!! congratulations your second trimester is the most exciting! you should be able to find out the sex of the baby on your next appointment. If you are still confused there is a real cool website i like to get answers from! pregnancy dot org! check it out! and enjoy every second moment of it. Some times when you research too much you get more worries the best thing is to write your questions down and on your next visit to the doctor ask him he will be glad to answer. congrads on ur baby boy, 20 weeks is 5 mths look at it like this most months have 4 weeks. When ur 4 week -1mth, 8 wks-2mths, 10 weeks-21/2 mths add two more weeks to that it would be 3mths hope this help.

I would say between 5 and 6 months. From experience, do not read too much into a book. While it is informative, it can cause unnecessary worrying. Congrats!

1 month= 4 weeks
2 months= 8 weeks
3 months= 12 weeks
4 months= 16 weeks
5 MONTHS= 20 WEEKS!
6 months= 24 weeks
7 months= 28 weeks
8 months= 32 weeks
9 months= 36 weeks
10 months= 40 weeks!!(usually we dont count this one)
