i have a guy friend that ive known since 1st grade now we're in the 11th grade&we started dating a while agobut it was almost always an off/on thing.this last time we broke up it was like for good.weve been broken up for about 3 months now but we're still really close.we talk almost every night and hang out a lot.i dont think ill ever get over him completely but i'm not gonna ask him to get back with me bc we seem to work better as friends.

i have this other friend thats a girl that hangs out with us.ive known her since 6th grade and we're very close also.she had a bf a while ago so she was always with him&never really with our group of friends.but they broke up and now shes coming with us but i noticed that them 2 hang out a lot a lot. it doesnt seem like a bf/gf type thing but if it was i wouldnt want to get in the way. but it just hurts to see that he'll move on. i also feel that by them hanging out more that im being replaced as his close friend..i love them both but it hurts

God I feel for ya sweety! I remember those days and they were never ever easy! You and your "boyfriend" have been "best friends" all your life and it sounds like things got "messed up" when you tried dating. Your girlfriend has never "dated" him so she qualifys as a friend to him and if ya'll had never "tried dating" he would still feel the same about you! Believe it or not, at your ages, friendship, close friendships mean everything right now. If you can try and act like you used to with your ex, like you two were still best friends, nothing more, it would probably make it easier for him to act naturally around you too! You don't need to feel out of place or lose the friendship of him or her, you just need to learn how to get back to being the way you were before you guys dated and I'll bet you anything, you all three will become close "best friends". Good luck Sweety.

Um! you already made the decision that you would not ask him to get back with you. So if your going to be friends than be that. It's OK to love or care for more than one person at a time. And remember when friends have a problem or feel some discomfort they talk about it.If you two would just talk things could be better and maybe you wouldn't feel so hurt.

well when you were with him would you like to lose time to another girl? if he was hanging out with his best friend the female would that be good. no it wouldnt so he will have to distance himself from you for a little bit and slowly bring you back in so that he can build a trust with his current interest. dont worry if you were there before you will be there after.

Like you said you work better just as friends. It may hurt for a bit but don't you want your two closest friends to be happy with whom ever they chose? That's what I would want for my best friends. It will get easier trust me.

You are just addicted to him. Time to go cold turkey and focus on yourself and your goals, especially at this point in your life. Think about who you want to be, then worry about who you will let into YOUR life.

you arent being replaced, it's just that your friend has moved on from your romantic relationship. it takes time to heal, but do you really like like him, or just like him as a friend?

you wont be replaced as a friend BUT you may as a g/f. if you are better as friends then you both may as well find other partners.
