I am wanting to purchase a used pool table and it is very heavy but taking it apart will cost alot of money. I thought if it could be taken off the base and hauled that way it would save me alot of money but I didn't know if the slate would collaspe if it was turned on its side. I could sure use the help ASAP because I only have a couple of days to get it. Thanks Brenda

You can haul it that way but it is very, very heavy. I rented a uhaul and transported it fully assembled and had no trouble. When I got to the new house I took it apart and carried it in. I would not suggest hauling it on its side, or flat on the truck floor. It costs alot to have someone disassemble then reassemble and re felt the table, but if you break the slate its really gonna cost you.

That would be way too heavy to lift! Also, once you got it to your house, it would not play very well. The table would need to be re-leveled and set up anyway. You should really try to hire a professional to move it and set it up

it can be moved in one piece but should be crated on a roller system. It is better to and should be dismantled and will require replacing the felt playing field.
