Purpose guides us forward, binds us together, drives us in a course of action, connects us with the world. There is purpose for man and beast alike even the foul of the air and plants.

Smith's words definitely make sense all the way. Purpose gives us meaning in life. Not money, fame, career ambition, or for that matter a position in society but it is love that completes life ultimately!
