True dat, wrestling since it became the WWE is utterly unbearable. How I long for the glory days of the late 70s and early 80s.

What exactly do you mean by British Pro wrestling being real? All that wrestling from the 80s on ITV was exactly the same deal as the American Pro Wrestling such as the WWE, TNA, ROH etc that we see today. Pre determined outcomes.

The only 100% competitive wrestling is amateur wrestling and they don't even bother to show that during the Olympic coverage.

If you prefer the English stuff then that is just a style and presentation choice, not a choice between 'real' and 'fake'. A lot of people don't like the WWE's version of pro wrestling at the moment due to it's generally poor quality and moronic storylines, but it is just one company in one country.

I agree that the British style is the best.... but the youngers are raised watching the american style... meaning kids find the British style boring!!!

In order to understand the British style, you need to learn the history of Pro Wrestling.... and before it turned into a 'pre-determined' wrestling show!!

Today, ProWrestling has envolved into American style which I personally find rubbish!!! Sure... Pro Wrestling is "Entertainment" but ProWrestling was soooooo much more than that. Britain, played an IMPORTANT role to Pro Wrestling, learn the history and youll find out why!!!!

Long live Jack Pye, Steve Grey, Les Kelet, Mick McManus, etc

Some are still alive today.... and I'd love to see them wrestle again....

Rock on old School!!!!

One other thing... the younger American Wrestlers are going overboard with there moves. They are far-fetched and dont look convincing to be real... or even hurt. When you watch the old school, even a simple body-slam looks convincing, and even a knock out blow...... more similar to real life scenarios!!!

"Easy, Easy....."

It got tooken off UK TV in the first place because it was so fake...?

Its still better than the american garbage though. I took my kids to see Big Daddy and some other british wrestlers in Scarborough some years ago. It was wonderful, so full of Humour. Both my kids said it was better than the WWF!

I would watch it if it came back on telly but then I have got a warped sense of humour. I guess most wrestling fans do.

British wrestling died because the talentless big daddy refused to relinquish the top spot to the more talented mid carders (McManus had the potential to carry the company.)

UK wrestling is making a come back, FWA has had great sucess and 1PW is proving extremely popular (although they need to push more uk talent instead of relying on the ROH/TNA imports.) I dont think we will ever get wrestling back on a legit sports program or prime time terrestrial TV.

Basically if you want world of sport type action then the closest thing to it is the mixed martial arts competition (which is completely shoot) where grappe holds are used more than strikes

Misawa vs. Kawada, Kobashi vs. Misawa and flair vs. Steamboat all come to concepts. huge Daddy's lack of a workrate genuinely did lots to damage British wrestling, yet in spite of.
