Most internet chess sites work as follows; move the king two squares towards the rook and assuming the move is legal the software places the rook besides the king to complete the move automatically,

one thing that wasn't mentioned... In addition to having not moved either the rook or the King, and there is a clear path, and the King isn't in Check, no opponent piece can threaten a square the king moves through or the destination square.
Also you can castle with the Queen's side rook.

you have to have a clear path between your king and your castle, and you cannot have moved either of them yet. You also cannot castle to get out of check. If all these are satisfied, you move the king 2 over, towards the direction of the rook, then you move the rook on the opposite side of the king, right next to him.

You must have an empty space between your rook(iether side ) and your king you can't castle when in check or if you have moved your king or rook.Good strategy for castling is the Reti or the Semi-Slav

First you need permission from the Mayor to build a castle. Then you need a moat.
