Be sure an visit Scotty's Castle while in Death Valley, as well as seeing Bad Water & The Devils Golf course.
There are some other great sights around Las Vegas. Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam, Old Nevada.

If driving, com ein from Parump and stop first at Dante's Peak. great overlook of the entire Death Valley. There is a famous Hot Spring in the area. Popular with nudists and nature lovers. Hit Badwater to be at the lowest point in North america.

Death Valley is definitely worth visiting. Imagine hearing...absolutely nothing. Its got a stark beauty to it. Its easily accessible from Vegas by car or tour. That time of year should be perfect weatherwise. Also, Scotty's Castle is a must see!

death valley is really nice that time of year. some of the canyons around the hoover damn and the valley of fire might be worth looking into if you have the time. p.s. if you want to see all of death valley get a room for one night out there because there is alot to see and to try to cram it all into one day is a shame.
