British because it was born in Britian. Maybe it could be of dual citizenship because you are an American. You need to check with Immigration about that and also about your husband applying for US citizenship.

My children were all 3 born in England. England considers them English & America considers them American. They were registered at the American consulate as "A child born abroad of an American Parent." They are all grown and in their 40s now & the 2 eldest served in the U.S. armed forces(taking an oath of alegience)but are still considered dual citizens. To drop either one, they would have to go to court & formally renounce one or the other. They've just never done it but consider themselves to be Americans. As for your husband applying for citizenship, it is really up to him. Is he ready to renounce citizenship in his home country? If not, or if he has misgivings then he should wait untill he is totally ready. Don't just do it because someone else thinks he should.

Your child is eligible for dual nationality, I think, especially as your child was born in the UK (and presumably registered there).
It really is up to your husband whether he wants to be a citizen of the US. My brother has dual nationality now (his wife is American) and lives in the States. I am not sure what benefits that gives him - apart from two passports.

He's British (the baby). You could get dual citizenship for him as long as your husband stays British. If he becomes American you lose that possibility.

Wow that's a crazy thing...I believe that because you are a American it allows your child to become one also..but you can also make your child a British citizen because of the birth and father..It's pretty much for you to decide...If you plan on staying in the U.S. I'd definetly make the child a U.S. citizen and your husband should also apply.

Baby is a Brit, but can apply for US citizenship because you are a US citizen. Just paperwork to fill out, then baby can have dual passports, Brit and Yank.

your child is actually going to be a dual citizen until she/he is 18.. at that point they must choose where they want their citizenhip to be. your husband can apply for US citizenship if he wants.. if he does so then your baby will loose the dual-citizenship.
