what would you do if this happened to you, and don't consider this a joke, cause it's not.

People have moved next to you in an apartment building, and are speaking to you nonstop either via speakers placed up against or inside the adjoining walls of two units. Thus, a constant audio procucing system is in place that broadcasts directly to you what these people want to say. You could call this auditory torture. They constantly talk to you and comment/ criticize your actions, for no reason other than extortion/ sick desires. What would you do?

Call the apartment manager and report it .
Document what they are saying to you by recording it .
If you can`t resolve the issue ,a civil suit is always an option .
You can sue the apartment owner for neglect and the neighbor for emotional abuse .
Good Luck. Then MOVE

I'd do one of two things. I'd check with my doctor and have him check to make sure I'm not experiencing delusions. I had a tenant who always complained about all the noise the neighbors in the other side of the duplex were making. I went over one night after he called, and, sure enough, the unit in question was still VACANT, and boarded up tight as a drum. My tenant was just delusional as it turns out. So, really, eliminate this as a possibility.

But, secondly, if you are not crazy, call the cops, have them come over and verify the harrassment. Videotape the harrassment. Inform the landlord that you will no longer pay rent until the issue is resolved....if he tries to evict you, take your evidence to court. File a "cease and desist" motion, or a restraining order with the courts....

First, I'd debug my house to make sure they can't see or hear my actions in real time.

Then, I'd install an extra wall in front of the one between our apartments, with a wall space in between. In that space I'd install pickups, an amplifier and speakers to blast the sound back towards the wall that divides our apartments. Once in a while, I'd pipe in Milli Vanilli songs for hours at a time, interspersed with some Barry Manilow tracks. At night, they'd get a dose of John Denver and White Zombie.

Finally, I'd takes notes of their criticism and take it as a lesson in self-control and learning to be thick skinned.

Alternative 2:

If I was rich, I'd buy the apartment above theirs, put a bunch of hydrophobic amateur sumo wrestlers in it for free, on condition that they wear clogs and wrestle each other whenever my next door neighbours were resting. I'd also pipe the smell from the sumos' place into my next door neighbours' apartment.

First of all I am going to let it be a given
that you are not schitzo or paranoid.
On that note, what the heck could they possibly be saying that is directed to you? Are they saying you are too loud with your roomates? If so, then TURN UP THE MUSIC.
(If they really have problem with YOUR noisiness, they would confront you face to face. But if they don't they are as "bad" as you, GET IT?)If you are not doing anything against the law, such as drugs or what not, then they wouldn't be threatening , would they?
If they are just ANNOYING, then do it back by being just as ANNOYING in your creative but not insane way like them.

Either lead them to the point of confrontation, or take it to your manager.

So where's the theoretical part of the question? Everything sounds like a practical situation to me, with a practical answer as given above and below.

Tape what they're saying, or bring in the building manager so they can hear it as well. Then maybe involve the police. They are violating your privacy. If that doesn't work, get a fake barking dog, maybe they shut up. ~

Complain to the management and if they are unwilling or unable to correct the problem give them a 30 day notice and move to another location.

Call the police. During the day that's harassment, and after 9 P.M. give or take (depending on your city's ordinance) that's noise pollution.
