not cashed, they dont have security that the check is legit, they would let you deposit it probably.

Most likely not! However, depending on the type of check they may be cashed mostly anywhere. Think about it for a moment, can you cash your American check in just any American bank? The answers is NO. The check must be from a bank where you have an account or it has to be a special check accepted universally: a cashier's check, a money order, a "bank's" check, and there may be others. I am not even sure you can cash an Uncle Sam's check just anywhere unless you have a checking account. I do not know how people without checking accounts do it. I think they use businesses where they have to pay a fee for cashing the check. Internationally, it is common to be charged a fee for cashing a check in most financial institutions.

I do not know about cashing them there but I can not wait till I cash my check from my Nigeria banker friend. It will be like winning the lottery 45 times.

I'm sure the answer to the question is yes. I would bet there is a Citibank there, and if no, then the major bank may be willing to do it.
