Well you know the saying:
You can please some of the people some of the time
but not all the people all of the time.

No, but the attempt to please everyone shows the lack of leadership. True leaders do what they feel is right and the right people will follow. The problem we have today is polling. Too many leaders in both parties pay too much creedence to opinion polls. President Clinton was the king of this and this is why he will be known as a horribly ineffective president the more time history has to judge him.
The one thing that the pleasers do not understand is what effective leadership is. Most people will respect a leader that holds on to his convictions and stands up for what is right.
I live in Congressman Shays district in CT. He is a Republican in a dominantly liberal, at least Democrat area. I have personally seen him stand up in front of constituents and explained his positions on a variety of issues. I am a conservative Republican and do not agree with many of his viewpoints. I had the priviledge to meet with him 1 on 1. I may not agree with him, but he is honorable and stood up for what he believes. That is true leadership. That is why he continues to be reelected in his district.

No. One may, on rare occasions, be able to please everyone, but to be able to do that with everyone all the time would just be too much to ask anyone. That would be achieving two absolutes!
Now, if somebody had an extremely short life in which they were able to please everyone during that short time, I suppose you could say they've achieved that. They would, however, not be pleasing others by dying after pleasing so many people.
A leader who tries to please everyone all the time is set out for disaster in such an impossible mission and would probably lose even the support of those who had most enthusiastically supported that leader as they'd like to feel they no longer know what that leader stands for.

Unfortunately, we could never please everyone
all the time. A dictator doesn't really please everyone
but he threatens them until they all believe the same
thing so it seems they are all on one page...sorta like
our mainstream media. They put G Bush down all
the time, and clones who listen to them begin to
believe the same thing so it seems like the media is
pleasing everyone......but actually just the opposite
is true. When something big happens, people begin to
see the light and then know everything they were told
was not the truth at all.

you cant please every1 all of the time as if u do u will serious damage ur own personal well being & not have the life u want 2 lead but only which others & the rules of society around u govern that u should do. People cannot live by set rules u need to have some leway as that is what makes every1 individualistic & is why we are attracted 2 each other for our own individualality & quirkyness. Control over these issues & trying to please people wud make us not ourselves.

No, because everyone has their own request. If you please BIg Oil or Big Pharma, you probably are not going to please their customers. If you consistently do the right thing for the consumer, you would require businesses to be fair and honest. You have diametrically opposed entities who are basically asking for opposite demands. In a perfect world, you would not have greedy and selfish corporations and the people who profit from them or the customer who always asked for more.

Well, I only have one set of "kissing" lips, so I don't care to wear them out on somebody's rear.
And everyone would be happy if I gave them all a $5 bill, but I'm poor.
I guess it's not worth stressing over! I will please the folks I need to & want to, and nobody else!

You can't appease every single person.
Because everyone is different and unique. Someone will always be offended in some way shape or form.

No you couldn't and if you did you would die trying. Think about how hard it is to please just one person. I know it is for me, besides the fact that it absolutely crushes me when I disappoint that person. You just have to make the best decisions based on what is the best for the majority period, unless we all start thinking the exact same way it is impossible.

As the population of the world grows, the answer becomes more obvious: NO.
However, you help them fulfill their basic needs and give them adequate opportunity to rise on their own merit, you will most likely rise to the top and have pleased MOST of them.
