Because it's not all cruel and evil, the media just likes to highlight the problems with the world because it's more popular than what's going well in it.
I'm an idealist...

I'm an optimist so I like to believe the nice people out number the bad. It's just the bad get waaaaaay more press than the good do. People love to look at crashes and train wrecks. When someone good helps someone, they don't do it for attention or applause. They do it for how it makes them feel inside. So that doesn't get written up in the papers or filmed for tv.
When I got a flat tire recently, I had 5 guys and 2 ladies stop to help me fix it! Granted, I live in a small town where that's more common but still,7 is an awful lot of people on a dark Monday night!
I think you just need to always look for the good in people, sweety. Honestly, even the baddest person has some good in them if you try to find it.

I think there a more nice people than evil people. But I have to agree with you, this world has some very cruel and evil people. Murderers, Childmolesters, Thiefs, Liers, Manipulators.

Because some of us refuse to give in. Even in the face of overwhelming oppression.
I was assaulted for years as a young child, now I am a volunteer at the rape crisis center as a hotline and hospital advocate. Things can be corrected if enough individuals stand up for what is right.

There are many more nice and kind people. We just look and hear on the news about the bad ones. If we look for the good, we really will find it.
