Prevent the assassination Franz Joseph Ferdinand, which might have prevented the first World War, which culminated in World War II and the Cold War. .

Provided any changes wouldn't destroy the world, I would change one thing:

I would change my interaction with a close friend years ago. She and I were very much in love but afraid of ruining our friendship. I never acted on it and I would go back and make sure I would have continued a relationship with her...and would have been been very happy to this date.

But because of my hesitance, I lost her forever to the Kiss of Death known as friendship. I constantly wonder where I would be if I made it clear what I wanted, instead of hiding from my feelings for her like a coward.

I know it seems kind of shallow and selfish, but I am answering this question with honesty. I almost said I wanted to stop 9-11, but unfortunately, I think that if it didn't happen then, it would have happened another time. We, as a nation, have learned a lot since our mistakes then, and I think terrorists would be fools to take another plane. Because now, people are more prepared and will fight back. And the plot would fail.

Probably pretty predictable, but I´d visit the small Austrian village of Braunau am Inn some time after the 20 of April 1889 and kill a then newborn boy by the name of Adolph.
Or I could find him, a grown man by now, in a war hospital in Pasewalk, Germany, around the Armistice of the 11 November 1918.

Its a would tough decision if it's real) coz to change a single event might bring a big touble for i believe that everything that had happened in the past has connection to one another SO i would rather leave it as it is for humanrace was able to survive despite the worst that ever happened.

You wouldn't want to, the consequences would be catastrophic. Take for instance the idea of killing Hitler when he was a baby. A very riteous move, right?

Wrong, with Hitler out of the picture, Ernst Roem takes over as Chancellor in 1933 and HE decides to implement the 'heavy water' program in the thirties resulting in a nuclear device by 1940.

In quick succession he defeats Britain and the USSR, eliminates European Jewry and enslaves half the planet. Thanks to your meddling in the space-time continuum, you really messed things up

The Assasination of Lincoln. He was getting ready to heal the country after 4 bitter years and bring everyone together. Sadly, He died and Reconstruction took over. I feel that with Lincoln at the helm for another 4 years..Blacks wouldn't have had to wait so long for abolition of "Jim Crowe" laws, etc..

Well this answer assumes that Christianity has it all correct, so here goes.....I would have to go way back and change the whole garden of Eden scene, Eve would have never fallen for the whole forbidden fruit deal......therefore we would all still be hanging out in the garden of Eden living in splendor and perfection! No problems, no crime, no wars, no disease, all issues solved...beautiful.

I would try to warn the authorities about the events leading up to 9/11. I know this question has been asked before in Yahoo Answers. I would still choose this option.

I would have prevented the burning of the Library of Alexandria. Short of seizing power there at the crucial moment and protecting it, I don't know how it could have been saved. But....think of the knowledge and the literature lost.
