The deal is that someone with a warped sense of humour, and a sense that celebrities are open fodder for gossip/slander decided to create this story... and it has since become an urban legend

Who, that was years ago. We also had a reporter in our home town with the same rumor, everyone claims it anyway, and he eventually left town the rumor was so bad.
