Could also be caused by corrupt drivers, or out of date drivers!
I had the same problem, and it took me about four months to figure out that it was the driver for my wireless adapter that was causing it.
After doing some research, I found that the driver supplied by Netgear on the installation CD had issues with SP2. I checked out their support site and found an updated driver with a patch to make it compatible with SP2. I also went through to check to make sure that all my drivers were Microsoft Hardware Compatibility Published. Ever since then, I've had no problems.

I've also heard that when RAM modules start to go bad, they'll restart your computer alot also.
I wouldn't rule out a virus or spyware either. Scan for both with a good anti-virus and anti-spy program.

Also, with all the error reports that got sent to Microsoft, they tried to tell me that it was caused by my "video device driver" I tried they're suggestion, but it still didn't work. I'd suggest going through ALL your drivers and update them.

Before I smash my head on the keyboard, here is a real tech's answer.

First check your temps. Make sure your components aren't overheating. Most likely they aren't.

Next get a memory check program. The most often cause is a memory problem. If the RAM has errors or is defective it will cause this.

Make sure you're not getting a blue screen. Is the computer just restarting or is it blue screen then restart?

Check your hard drive integrity. The hard drive going bad can cause errors in the read/write sections that will fault windows and cause a restart.

Make sure you don't have any conflicts either ISA or otherwise. You can find out by going to control panel>administrative tools> event viewer. Look under application or system. It will tell you if Windows has any faults.

If by the slim chance you have a virus. You'd be lucky if this is all it's doing. I doubt you have a virus. Get lavasoft addaware and check for anything malicious. Also get a real virus program like Mcafee. Don't go with the free stuff. Those always let viruses through.

Memory is the #1 cause of constant restarts.

if the software side is already checked, then most likely if its not the ram and video card it is now the motherboard. But it can be repaired.
