If your fundal height measured small when you were pregnant, what happened? Were you low on amniotic fluid or just a small baby? My doctor says I am measuring small and is going to have me take another ultrasound at 39 wks next week. How did it turn out for you?

mine was small and I had no fluid and my son died 2 hours after birth. Not saying this to scare you. Don't worry, if they haven't caught anything by ultrasound yet, you shouldn't have any worries as long as the baby is moving. My baby didn't move my entire pregnancy.

How small are you measuring? I measured small the whole time. I didn't even go up a pant size until 6 months. My mom was very small when she was pregnant with me, so it's definatley genetics-related. Also, I had terrible morning sickness and lost 15 lbs before I gained anything.

Towards the end, I got a lot bigger (still couldn't tell if I had on a t-shirt and was sitting down), but I still measured at least 3 weeks behind. My doctors didn't do an ultrasound or anything because the heart rate was good and we knew of my family history of being small, and when I went a week overdue, we decided to schedule an induction.

4 days later, at the hospital, they wanted to do an ultrasound to check everything before the did the pitocin, and it turned out that the baby was frank breech, face up, feet and arms over his head, and I had slightly low fluid levels, which they said was okay since I was almost 2 weeks overdue.

My Dr. said that he could try to manually turn the baby if I wanted to try to have him vaginally, but it had about a 50-50 chance of working, and that the low fluid level would make it harder to do, and even if it did work, delivering a face up baby is difficult.

He said that he would not want to try to deliver him vaginally as he was, because there are all sorts of complications, like my pelvic bone could break, his collarbone could break, the cord could get pinched, or the baby's body could come out okay, and then his head get stuck!

When he was born by cesarean, he ended up weighing a perfectly normal 7lbs 13oz.

The Dr's know best, and (especially after that next ultrasound) they'll be able to see what's going on and give you all the options.

Good luck, and don't stress! Everything will turn out great, and you'll be happy later on that you had an interesting baby story.

I doubt you need to worry. How much smaller is it measuring than where he would like to see you be?? I have 4 kids, but have delivered 5. (One passed shortly after birth...preemie) I had no issues with the first three, but the last 2 both measured small. Mostly by time for delivery my son was close to *normal* measurements. My daughter remained small though. Hopefully it just means you have a tiny lil' thing in there!! :-) Relax. Especially at 39 weeks...that close there shouldn't be too much of a worry! I'd think if there was a worry, your doctor would have noticed before and done something. Good luck, and congrats!!

PLEASE don't freak out hun. I just delivered my second baby and both measured very small. I had ultrasound after ultrasound...praying they would catch up....SCARED TO DEATH. Both were born PERFECT at 5 lbs 15 ounces 20 inches and 6 lbs 9 ounces, 21 inches. I think I was measuring close to two weeks behind...

Anyway they have lots of time to grow when they are finally OUT OF YOUR BODY!! :)

Relax hun, now isnt the time to stress :)

you will desire to technically be measuring on a similar sort of inches each and every week of being pregnant with the aid of this component. notwithstanding if your generic practitioner isn't in touch approximately it you mustn't worry the two. If there became right into a topic your generic practitioner would address it. on occasion lady carry smaller and on occasion the placement of the toddler can impression the fundal length,

how small did you measure? I always measured 2 weeks smaller than my actual EDC and my daughter was fine. She weighed 6lb. 13 oz. Dont worry......its fine. I always say dont stress over something until you need to. The doctors were never concerned about my fundus measuring 2 weeks behind....its quite normal.

My sister in law always measured behind and she went full term having a 4 pd baby. I think she had IUGR though.

I've had 3 kids and pretty much measured with 1 week +/-

the funal height is how big your sac around the baby is sometimes it is smaller sometimes bigger could be a smaller baby but the ultrasound will tell.
