I'm dating this amazing guy. For the past few days he's been in texas on a church trip. During that time some people at my school have started a rumor that I like another guy. Today a dude approached me and said "Everybody knows that you like mason"
I dont like this guy and I dont want Curt(my boyfriend) to approach me and think that it's true. What can I do to make the rumors stop?

Talk to your boyfriend before anyone else can. the sooner you talk to him. the more likely it is that he'll believe you. Call him, email him, page him. whatever. do what ever you can to beat the rumors. Have a real heart-to-heart talk with him and get all thought/feelings/rumors out in the air. Do something special for him to make sure that he knows what your true feelings for him are. i don't mean shower him with gifts, but a nice dinner or something.
As to stop the rumors, don't try to find the source of it because it's likely that the web is WAY too big. just ignore it and hopefully it will go away. if some especially annoying people keep pestering you say something like, "That's ridiculous. Who told you that?" try to say it in a light and jokingly tone with a smile. if you snap at them and act completely defensive they'll only try harder to hurt your relationship.
Trust me. it'll go away eventually. wait it out with a smile and Curt in your arms.

There's absolutely nothing you can do to make the rumors stop. Ugly has a way of just being, well, ugly.
What you CAN do is ignore the rumors. Stay true to yourself and, if you know in your heart that you're not cheating on your bf, then you can consider whoever started the rumors a very jealous person (s) and not worthy of your time or your effort worrying about things that simply aren't true.

Talk to your Mum and Dad and his parents too if you have been dating for a long time. If this is a new relationship, you will have to wait until you speak to him next and give him a heads up on the situation. Don't react to the rumors, it will only add fuel to the fire. The more you overreact, the more people will assume you're too defensive for reasons you're accused of. Ignore them and worry about yourself and your boyfriend only, the others are only hearsay.

There is nothing you can do to make these rumours stop and if you boyfriend is trusting he should not beleive them either the more you make a big deal about it the more people are going to beleive it, and the longer it is going to hang around. I hope things work out for you and your boyfriend

Tell your BF before he hears it from someone else then you tell him the rumors that are going around and don't lie if you do he wont be your BF any more.

just ignore them. making a fuss about it will only keep it stirred up and make it last longer. people always like to watch others squirm. don't squirm. and when he gets home be sure and tell him what is going on before he hears it from everyone else.

Don't give them the satisfaction of responding to the rumor. If asked, just say "that's just riduculous" and don't give it another thought.
