my husband works at a chow hall on a military base and his supervisor (a woman) harasess him all the time. she just recently cut his hours and is about to cut his days. she wants all the workers to kiss her a** and beg her for extra hours. she picks favorites all the time and will give all these extra hours to whoever gives her a ride home. she is a compulsive liar, and creates a hostile enviorment.

i am not allowed to call him because when i do and they page him, she will get on the phone and tell me he's not allowed to recive calls when everyone else is.

she has started many fights between him and i because of this. she will lie and say i hung up on her and my husband will get mad at me.

the company is a union but have done nothing about it.

my husband cant quit because he lost his green card and i waiting for a new one in the mail.

he is coming home every day stressed and upset and lately we have been fighting a lot

oh and shes also a meth addict!

Warn a higher-up about her. If she's a meth addict, she shold have to do a "pop drug test", and that shoudl fire her immediantly. Sounds like a nice one.

When he gets his green card, (I have no idea what that is), get a new job..., relocate, whatever... and as for the whole husband thing, what my parents do when they're upset:

Go somewhere, get a coke/pop/soda/meal whatever they can afford, and sit chattin'.

Chatting, talking about what they'd like to do.

Well...you know what....your husband needs to come home and DOCUMENT in WRITING everything that was done that day or said in a harrassing manner to him. He cannot prove anything without documentation. And I know it may be a pain, but it has to have the date, time, what was said, and what the result was.

Then, if he has to go to a higher up, (which he would be able to do w/documentation), he would have the proof.

Please keep in mind however, that what certain employers consider "harrassment", may not be the same as what you consider it to be.

If you can, you don't say if it's sexual harrasssment, but there is a broad description of harrassment on the website nolo.com, or EPA.org, which defines harrassment on the job as, "creating a hostile environment", he may be able to pursue this under this description.

Unfortunately we sometimes have to deal with bosses we don't like if we need to keep the job. You may need to consider not calling him at work and doing things to keep the peace with his boss, at least until you guys are in a situation to look for a different job. If she is a unionized employee and your husband is not, she is protected for sure. If they are both unionized he should go to his union rep. It is probably best if you stay out of it as much as possible. The boss is the boss is the boss .... not much we can do about it most of the time.

#1 is stop calling him at work. There's no reason to call someone at their job unless the house is burning down or someone is dying. Even though bosses seem "okay" about it and even say it's okay, do NOT do it.

The rest is just part of the working world. If the place has random drug tests, drop an anonymous note that she needs one.

Stay out of it and don't call him at work. You may want the best for him but you're only making it worse and it's his problem to deal with.

Keep cool till you get the card.
Dont call him .dont kiss her hiney. just take it easy till he can get a new job.
Stay calm so when he gets home it doesnt feed the fire.
