set yourself up so that you are square to the ball when the shot is coming. Also practice having someone volley a ball to you from about 2 yards away. Have them get quicker hits to the ball as they volley it to you this will help with your reaction time and also help with your flinching problem.

Like someone else said, don't beat yourself up for being human.
It's a mental thing. One thing that helps is realizing that you are gonna get hit with the ball at some point. Trust me: no goalkeeper wants to get, especially in the face.
Doing sets of drills with a coach or friend could help. Simply having them throw it at you from a few yards away will help. Start slow, then have your coach or helper increase the speed and velocity of the throws. Your hands will start responding, and your brain will adjust.
You can then graduate to short volleys and the like.
Remember, you are not weird. What you consider an impediment is something the good Lord gave you to keep you alive. Flinching is part of staying alive.

15? Jesus. Girls keep getting prettier and are actually younger. Sheesh..and I'm only 22 haha. Anyways, I can't relate, but I can tell you that you ARE young, have been through some terribly horrifying and dramatic events, recurring, for years and years. In every girls list of fears, being raped/sexually assaulted is at the top. You've endured it--not by a stranger, but by someone you THOUGHT you could trust, and who you thought would look over you. Wrong. In turn, he provides you with the ultimate betrayal. Within only being 15, and the incidents being rather recent as well, you can't expect to just get over them. Medication, or time. About all you have. Seek some counseling, find the right guy who treats you with the respect you deserve as a woman, get close enough with him to explain to him your problems--if you have to, skip the foreplay/reaching into the shirt, take off your own, do whatever it takes. Sex is meant to be pleasurable and the most intimate aspect between two people--it will come in time, who wants to dread it/have horrible thoughts?

Don't be scared! Have you ever seen a ball hurting a goalie? I never did - maybe once or twice - and I play soccer for 15 years - and was a golie for two years!!!
You are human and your reflexes are there to protect not just the goal but also yourself! It's just a human reaction to protect yourself! Just don't give it a lot of thought, thats all. Simply do it!
Again, I NEVER SAW ANY GOALIE GETTING SERIOUSLY HURT WHILE stopping shots!

Be a man about it. Soccer balls are not as hard as they use to be.Plus with the right pair of goalie gloves you should not have a problem. Glad your not playing on my team. I would be Pi**ed.

i think u should get a few good smacks and hits on the face especialy on the nose cause thats the worses place to get hit with the ball on the face.first start wit light hits then go harder and harder hits on the face till u can get a good hit to the face thats how u loose the fear of getting hit.that wat i did to the goaly of my team and he has no problem taking balls or blocking them.
