Been reading about that weirdo who claims to have killed Jonbenet Ramsay, he married a girl aged 14 in Alabama. My wife says in a lot of southern states it is legal to marry at that age - surely this can't be true in this day & age?

In some states it is ok to marry someone 14 and over to me that is just discusting. Elvis was with Priscilla when she was 14 but they claimed that thier was no sex they just slept in the same bed yeah right. He married her at the age of 22. What would a man want with such a young girl. I think it is power if you ask me. I am 37 years of age and I remember being 14 I was so immature and could not think of being married at that age. I did not get kissed until I was 15 and it was with a boy my age. I find it very disturbing and should not be allowed.

In the United States, all but two states require a couple be age 18 in order to marry without parental consent. Nebraska sets the age at 19 and Mississippi at 21 at the time of this writing (May 2003). A few states will waive this requirement if there is a pregnancy involved, but the couple may still have to have court approval.

I'm not totally sure but I think with a parents written permission, yes. I believe Priscilla was only 14 when Elvis met her while in the army, but had her promised to him to marry when she turned of age, don't know what country, seems she married him at 17?

In 1988 I was married at the age of 16. It's legal when the parents sign consent.

I know she was 14 years old when they met but not sure how old she was when they married.

A man marrying a girl at age 14 might as well be raping her.

Some states have no age limit, as long as the parents approve.

YOU GET MOTHERS LIKE MRS RAMSAY EXPLOTING THEIR CHILDREN FOR BEAUTY PAGENTS THEN THERE WILL BE ALLOT MORE WEIRDO'S COMING OUT OF THE WOODWORK. LET THE CHILDREN BE CHILDREN AND NOT A DRESS UP SHOW AND TELL SESSIONS FOR THE MOTHERS. WHO KNOWS WHAT ELVIS DID. WHEN YOU HAVE FAME THERE ISNT MUCH YOU CANT HAVE.
