Trumpet is the easiest instrument to pick up from scratch and learn but the hardest instrument to master. Which ultimately means that you will learn to enjoy playing trumpet but always have room to improve yourself. More so than any other brass instrument out there. I do not suggest that you buy your first trumpet, I suggest that you go to a music store and rent one for a couple of months. This way you are not stuck having a $500+ piece of metal if you decide you doan like it. I have played trumpet for a very long time and I still find room to improve myself at the craft. I think that its the best brass instrument out there. See for yourself!

No instrument is easy to learn, if your looking to learn the trumpet the learn the rhythms the the notes, if you are Ina school band a student trumpet, same thing if it's just for fun. If it's for a professional thing like a jazz band get a professional one.

have and am still currently playing the trumpet as of now. if you want to play it for fun thats fine but like all things yes it does take practice and time. it all depends on what level of playing you're aiming for.

Yes, I played the trumpet and got quite far with it (played with the Birmingham Conservatoire). It isn't too hard to play (though it has an initial steep learning curve - it took me a week to get a sound out of it!). If you are buying a trumpet, then get whatever takes your fancy (I had a Yamaha and it lasted me until I was grade 8). The more important thing is the mouthpiece. Whatever trumpet you buy, buy a Vincent Bach mouthpiece (I think I had a 7C) ... they aren't too expensive and make all the difference between sounding awful and sounding great.
If I had a second chance, I would play the Saxophone ... purely because it sounds so sexy. The trumpet is nice but unless you are really talented (which I am not) there are better Brass instruments to impress people with.

I have played the trumpet. I think it's easy to learn/play. The best kind of trumpet to buy is one from Marshall Music. I thought it was great overall.

Yep. My best friend and I taught ourselves how to play in the 7th grade for extra credit. It wasn't too hard, but we used a book from the Essential Elements music collection for beginning trumpet players, and it really helped. Though I haven't played for a couple of years, I still love the instrument and it's great fun to play. Good luck! =)

I played the trumpet for three years. It is a fairly easy instrument to play though it is hard to get good at (like a lot of things). I just had a very cheap used one. It is a fun isntrument to play.
