J Miller (answer above mine) looks pretty accurate.Brace up. Don't waste your hard-earned money on fancy stuff. Rubbing alcohol, dabbed on very often - like once an hour... to dry out the area around the sore. Sorry to tell you, they have a healing cycle. You will have to settle for six days - three of major healing, and then a little make-up to hide it for the last three days. Sorry - maybe others here will come up with better answers. If you want to speed up that cycle even more, do not allow yourself to be upset by the whole thing. That just activates the nervous reaction thing which sets it off. Rubbing alcohol and a cool-as-a-cucumber attitude. And a dab of makeup and chin up and it will be over before you know it. I have them from time to time, so my heart goes out to you. Keep calm. That'll whittle off another 10 hours... Best to you from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old.)

Alcohol will dry it out too much, making it crack which is really, really unsightly. Use Abreeva, take some lisine tablets (from the health food store), and rub ice on it for 1-2 minutes at a time. Don't hold the ice on it, but slide or rub it back and forth. This will freeze the inflamation in it, without damaging the layers of skin. The Abreeva will help it heal quickly, and the lisine will put the herpes virus in check. Lisine doesn't cure herpes, it just keeps it in check.

Try some tea tree oil which will dry it out - once you have got a good scab on it try some carmex. I don't think you will get rid of it completely in 3 days but it will look a lot better

Alcohol will probably not help. worth a quick try though. Malt vinegar has been known to work, as has grape tannin.
I always used colloidal silver though (health food shop, try google). That ALWAYS works.

Really not sure but alcohol will dry wounds....treat it with campho after the alcohol....beware the alcohol will burn more than expected in this area. But, I do know that alcohol dries up poison ivy very quick.
