really intend to keep it, or you just make a promise to make everything okay, but don't really intend on keeping it?

Whenever I make a promise I always not only intend to keep it I do keep it. Just a promise I made to myself a long time ago after having so many people break promises to me.

all of the above, if i keep a promise its for a really good friend, to make everything ok is for people that get on my nerves, and i make promises i never intend to go through with to people i dont know

Well, we all make promises, because they are meant to be held. Intending to not keep them is something other than what i want to get into.

I never say the words "I promise" unless I am positive I can keep the promise. I am very careful about what I promise.

Really try to keep those promise sometimes if not the person who you promise might have negative results for not doing so. When you refer to "I'm giving you my word" than you must do it on time too.
