I enjoy being cut and hit in sex but I do not enjoy the sub-dom aspect of bondage. I prefer sex to be about love and equal sharing of emotions and although I enjoy S&M I like it in a very specific way.

Absolutely!
Bondage can add a lot to sex: it stimulates your brain as much as you body. Feeling you are a Damsel in Distress is something really kinky.
Moreover, any sensory deprivation (blindfold, gags, full hood...) adds a lot to the game: every time you loose one of your senses, the feelings you get from the others are multiplied.
And (believe my experience...) this leads to really great sensations!
