Throw them into the washer and REALLY clean them about every two wks but don't dry them. I have washed every tennis shoe/sneaker that my kids and grandkids have worn in the last 25 yrs. and haven't ruined any yet! I despise nasty shoes!I have even washed the girl's patent leather dress shoes and my casual shoes and everybody's stinky sandals!Flip-flops included! I usually put the shoes in an old pillow case each (2 shoes-2 cases)so they won't rub or get tangled and just use warm water and laundry detergent and if they are colored use color-safe bleach if needed. I also put a couple of towels to help hold them down into the water for the best wash. Best wishes!

Sure, it won't hurt the shoes at all.

There is also a new product called Chlorox Anywhere spray. Both are safe for things like that and kill germs.

You can also purchase a small steamer and use the heat to kill germs if you prefer the absence of chemicals.

I use a small steamer quite often around the house. You can pick them up at Wal-Mart for around $30

Um ... other than normal bacteria, you shouldn't really have germs in your sneakers.

If you share them with someone else, you can buy a shoe disinfectant for just such a purpose (think bowling shoes).

If they just stink, try one of those inserts.

Had this problem with one of my kids, tried everything. After watching a TV program discovered it was caused by buying cheap sneakers.

Might try washing them first, before buying all the germ killers. Try setting them in the sun sometimes. More like let them air out a bit.

You probably could, but I think they sell specific stuff for shoes and sneakers.

Febreze works well. You can buy foot powder with zinc in it and it will keep your sneakers nice.
