im from newyork and im a yankees fan.i think people hate the yankees cause they r jealous of our team's succees.

We are jealous. Your team is so great. You are so lucky to have them. I'm stuck here in Boston with these bumbling Red Sox.

I don't like the Yankees because I think there is a disipline when it comes to winning. The Yankees show none. They buy all of the talent, they never have anyone in the farm system and its not the competition they take the best players from, it is the teams that only have one or two superstars. When I see a team earn a title with pure talent, i have no problem giving respect. The Yankees take someone else's pure talent and win titles with other teams players. And lately they can't even do that. They have no interest in competition. They want to take the easy path. That is why people hate the Yankees.

i agree with drokk....much of the "hatred" of the yankees is base on the arrogance and behavior of the yankee fans. the yankees lead the world in bandwagon fans........although there are many longtime and lifetime yankee fans(most of which i can respect), there are also a TON of yankee fans who have only been yankee fans since the late 90's and know literally nothing of the teams past other than the number "26". many of these so called fans simply think they are better than fans of other teams because of the yankees success. actually its quite a shame that people have such self esteem problems.
many people also despise the yankees because of george stienbrenner. he is a felon who probably years ago should have been permantly banned from owning a mlb team who has circumvented and maniplutated mlb rules to "buy" his team. for yankee fans, i imagine its good to have an owner do what he can to put a winner on the field, BUT, he has done so knowing of its overall ill effects on mlb as a whole. the rest of baseball be damned.....as long as the yankees win is his attitude.
and finally yes, for some people a bit of jealousy might be part of it as well....everyone would prefer that their team be a winner. hopefully when your team does get its chance, you remain a bit humble about it and dont emulate the arrogance of a large faction of the yankee fanbase.

Well, the Yankees haven't had much success in the past say 5 years, so I don't know about that. . .People hate them mostly, because they can buy whatever they want, is what I think. Or just because they do a good job beating their team!

Because every Yankee heater is a Major League asshole and they are jealous because the NY Yankees have a very rich history and more championship than anyone.Unlike Boston cause they literally suck.

It's natural. Yes, there are a lot of Yankees fans, it's true, but also there are a lot more fans (in total) of the other teams. (I'm a BlueJays fan.) We tend to dislike teams that do better than our own team, and the Yankees do better than most teams year after year. So they get a lot more people resenting them than other teams.
There won't be many people hating the BlueJays unless they win consistently for a loooong time--I mean, like, for 50 years or so.
I live in Japan, and here there are a lot of Yomiuri Giants fans (Hideki Matsui's old team). They had a very long string of success, and when I came to Japan, after "Giants fans," the next biggest category was people who called themselves "anti-Giants"--they'd support any team, as long as it wasn't the Giants.
But the Giants have been poor for several years (now, 5th in a 6-team league), and it just doesn't seem to be worth the trouble any more to hate them.

most of them are jealous. they claim that the yankees buy their championships year after year. its just not true. The core of their team that won on the late 90s was Jeter, Rivera, Pettitte, Bernie, and Posada. All of whom cam up through the yankees farm system. Even now the Red Sox fans complain about buy championships but no one noticed that when they won on 04 they didnt have anybody though their system. Now the Yankees have Wang, Cano, and Cabrera and a stronger system than people realize.

I agree with you. I'm a Yankees fan and it gets on my nerves when people talk trash about them for no reason and have nothing to back it up with. But I've noticed that there are more Yankee lovers than haters.
