People dislike us because we don't take the time to educate ourselves about other cultures, religions, languages, etc. We automatically assume that everyone wants what we have. And we are stunned when we discover they don't. Why would anyone turn away from the American Way of Life. There are a lot of other nations in the world and some of them are very nice places to live. I for one would love to have the German Train System in this country. We wouldn't be half as worried about oil if we did.
And I sure like European architecture and cities way more than American cities designed for cars instead of people. As an example, tonight in downtown Regensburg will be filled with people taking walks, sitting by fountains, window shopping, eating gelatos, drinking wine and beer and apfelsaft. Tonight downtown Tulsa will be dead except for the homeless walking up and down the half-lit streets.
Yes Americans have done a lot of good in the world and are by far the most generous people in the world, but our stupidity oftens precedes our generosity.

Because they are completely self centered and self absorbed for a big part of their population... Most of them are ignorant, they are condescendant as well and think they are superior, they created a low class culture based on superheroes, bad food, tacky art, making money, the more their house is big the happier they are, and above all they are the worst hypocrits...
But I think it is also that they start to realize that China will take their leadership soon, that even their allies dont trust them anymore, that they are kind of isolated, that Europe and China are back on the world economy concert, that they dont have one ennemy anymore but the whole planet dislike them to not say hate.
Of course me I used to like America, but I have been insulted too much, I ve been said that my country is **** too much, I have been said that I am a coward with no respect for the history of my country, I have been said that I stinck, that the women of my coutnry have hair under their harmpit, I have been said that my country should be more friendly when visiting a friend in New-York City, I have been said so many things and now I hate America and American people, I dont make any difference between them even if I know I should, but it is too late.

Yes America has done a lot but it also has caused a lot of pain and distraction in the world, specifically with wars or allowing them. It's not as simple as you make it however. It's not love it or leave it. It's much deeper. For example, I like people but I dislike the administration and many of its policies. I don't think people really hate Americans, they hate the administration and the government but when you cannot touch the government, you will direct some of it to the regular people. As for your other point, most people are usually jealous of others and that's what happens everywhere, not only in U.S.. It's human nature I guess.

Depends on what you call more.
I don't think it is the American people so much as their paranoid and control freak administration. Who made America the world police?
Most of the people around the world that ARE sceptical of America, don't live there and ARE home, it's the American interference in their home that they dis-like. After all you wouldn't like the French (for example) interfering in your internal affairs would you?
Couple this to the ignorance shown in world-wide environmental issues by your administration and I would not agree, that on balance, America actually does much for the world.
I however also do not believe that MOST people hate Americans, I know I don't.

That's a simple question for a complicated matter. Americans are viewed as selfish, wasteful, and ungrateful by a lot of the world. We have so much, yet we can't seem to get enough. Also, as a whole, the moral integrity of this country has gone down over the last 50 years and with the drugs, sex, and violence, other countries view American's and nothing more than spoiled, selfish, brats. That's a very simplified version of a very complicated matter.

Because as a nation we've been conducting ourselves very dishonorably, disingenuously, greedily and enviromentally destructively in the world and who's in charge of that? The people running the country, who else? That means we need to elect better leaders, that and our TV makes us look like close minded, ignorant, racist, uncultured, short sided, selfish, greedy, crazy, violent, sex crazed, pompous self righteous jerks, which is only partially true we still have our good side and anyway the bad side projects a poor image of America to people who have never even been here and only hear rumors and see whats on TV and in movies and see what our corporations and our military do out in the world that we don't see because our media misdirects, covers up, hides things, lies, panders and downplays things to us while making us feel like we're so much better then everyone else, I feel like if we really want to be better, which I be live we can do because i belive in the American people even if we've been showing very poor form for about the last hundred years (W.W. I. and W.W. II as exceptions) we need to really live it not just say it and when we do people won't hate America as much. We need to get back to truth, justice, rights, liberties, equality, honesty, hard work, not squandering natures bounty, the things our country was founded on and we'll see our way back to an honorable and good country and people.

Indeed people , and let's be more specific, those who are truly politically oriented, don't hate Americans. They hate America's foreign policy. The Americans are nice people , they are normal human beings who are subjected to love and hate like any other people. The point or answer to your question finds its way as I said in the government policy and adminstration!
Indeed, if that proves anything, it just shows how horrible the media is to wash our brains thinking that Americans are being hated from others!

i think that people hate americans because we are always wanting more, never content with what we have. but that could be a good thing, i mean, how would we have accomplished all that we have without wanting more? another reason people might dislike americans is because we're always on the move. but that's just the way we are, and there's nothing wrong with that. everybody just has their own way of living, that's all. and people need to learn to accept other people's differences.

People hate Americans because the US is intervening in the affairs of other states. For Americans, they hate other Amricans because they disagree with the intervention of their country in other states.

All you have to do is watch MSNBC for that. And listen to Dubya talk a few times.
Americans on their high horse, just like you with this question (propaganda). That's why other people hate Americans. You've made my point for me.
