O.K Good question, I know my answer without even having to think about it. It's from a really old film I saw a long time ago. It's set during the 2nd world war in England and a bomber pilot is crashing into the north sea in the fog with his crew dead and he talks to an American (woman) radio operator saying his last goodbyes. His parachute is ruined and he is just waiting for the plane to crash, and they talk, and part of the conversation goes something like "I love you June, you are life, and I'm leaving you" It is the most romantic and tragic scene, the whole film is wonderful. (He was supposed to die in the crash but survives and is put on trial in heaven) The film is "A Matter of Life and Death". Please find it and watch it.

Robert DeNiro and Woods in a scene from "Once Upon A Time In America". He comes back to the gang after disappearing for a while and he sits quietly, stirring his coffee for more than a minute while the other gang members look at him in disbelief. Then Woods erupts with criticism for him letting the gang down by leaving them at a time when they needed him most. The contrast of the quietness of the coffee stirring to the yelling of Woods is amazing.

My all-time favorite is a love scene, which is funny for me because I'm a chick who hates--HATES--"chick-flicks". It's the scene in The Year of Living Dangerously when Mel Gibson (yeah, I know..yeesh..his recent history almost spoils it) and Sigourney Weaver escape a party and into the night after a really great make-out scene. I don't believe in Romantic Movies but this one definitely does it for me.

Mine is the scene in "THE ABYSS" where the woman that plays Ed Harris's wife dies and he swims her back to the ship and has to perfome CPR on her... just when he's about to give up he gets mad and says "You never backed down from a fight in your life (curses a bit) and then starts slapping her in the face and then pounding on her chest and tells her to "Fight Fight Fight"... that was so intense and then she's revived... everyone in tears and emotional.
