I've only seen one person that can do it convincingly. No idea how. Good luck.

Electrical appliances seem to respond well. I do it all the time with my air conditioner. I think about it coming on because I am hot (or off because its cold), and it works. Other people would say I just am sensitive to the temperature, and know when it will turn on/off. I know better. No way to prove I actually turn on/off my air conditioner. Everything has a electrical energy. I suggest starting with something small like a candle flame. Try to controll the flicker, or make it go out with your mind. Then move to larger object (if your sucessfull)

In real life, such a thing would probably never work, but in the book and movie Matilda, by Roald Dahl, Matilda focused and felt the power burning through her eyes, then moved any object she wanted any way she wanted.

Start small. Also, see the movie Phenomenon with John Travolta. Maybe it's the scientology?
