I had a miscarriage in June, and at that time also found out that I have HPV. My levels came back really high and I have to go and have a coloscopy (biopsy) done on Monday, August 21st to test to see if I have cervicle cancer or not. My midwife's office called today to remind me of the appointment, and I asked if I should keep it because of the possibility that I may be pregnant, because I know she can't preform the biopsy if I was. I can't do a home test yet as implantation will most likely occure on or around the 22nd of August if I did in fact conceive. She said that she will give me a pregnancy test before doing the biopsy, but I am assuming that she is talking about a urine test, because if she did a blood test she would have to wait for the results to come back. Should I be concerned about having the biopsy not knowing if I am even pregnant or not, and do you think I should reschedule it?

My midwife said that she WOULD NOT do the biopsy if I was pregnant, that is why I had to wait so long so that she knew that my last pregnancy was definitly over.

I had the same problem. I was trying to concieve, and had to do the same test, beacue my HPV level was in the high risk as well. The only thing my OBGYN told me was that if i was pregnant and she did the test, it would be hard, because when she does perform it on pregnant person it can cause some slight bleeding...making it hard for her to see. That is all that she told me.

for sure you could cancel it. The question is do you should, and what's so major that you prioritize it over treatment. i stumbled on a tumor and all started chemotherapy 26 days later. In that element, I had a biopsy, an MRI, a puppy, one canceled surgical treatment, a port became put in, and that i began going to a heart specialist. no one from my artwork became something except accommodating and encouraging, yet i became attending to the rfile's workplace each and every time i mandatory to flow, inspite of what became taking position.

Well, if the biopsy us being done in a hospital, they can have blood test results back in an hour for HCG levels. If it is being done in the office, I would cancel until I was sure and then use protection until the biopsy was done-good luck!

you should do the biopsy.. the effect that it has is just to your cervix, if you are that early in the pregnancy that the urine test wouldn't even pick it up then I seriously doubt any harm could come to the pregnancy and it's important to find out about why your pap came back abnormal. I've been there..

ok you think you are pregnant but you havent had the implantion yet.get the biopsy done. you wont even test positive in blood at that point it wont make a difference. you are a fool for trying to get pregnant while you have this disease. worry about kids after you get this treated what good are you to a baby if your dead

They'll give you test when you get there if your really concerned. That biopsy is very important to your health, and you should do it as soon as possible, if you wait it could get worse.

think about this, first of all how do you think you are pregnant?
if you just had a miscarriage in june, it was too soon.
if you have cancer, do you know how fast that spreads?
its very hard to cure cancer on pregnant females. you need the biopsy and hopefully are not pregnant so that you do not need to make the decsion of chemo vs the baby. good luck.

Your midwife should be able to tell all that you need to know. If she can't provide the answers then you need to locate someone who can.
