Well, there is two ways that I have take care of this problem ;
One is using bleach and extremely hot water. Let it sit in the tub for a few minutes then drain it out afterwards take a small wash clothe with regular soap and lightly wipe it down ( The only thing is if you have really young children or you have animals you will want to keep them out of the bathroom until it is finished)
Two make the water so hot that it steams the tub then put comet in it. Let it sit for about twenty minutes then rinse.

Bleach will kill mildew and mold upon contact. There is also a product called Tilex that is very effective. Just be sure the room is well ventilated if you use any of these solutions.
Good Luck!!

I use Mr. Cean Eraser. Then I wipe over it with bleach..wear gloves. Let it dry.Then I put a thin film of automobile wax(turtle) on & buff it. With the wax on, it will be much easier to keep clean
& shiny. I only have to use the wax 2 or 3 times a year. It seems like a lot of work but really saves more work than it is.

bleach is your first option. it will help kill it. but you will have to keep up on the cleaning and airing out your bathroom a lot. if the mildew is in the grout of your tile or sealant aroung the tub.. it is better to remove the grout/sealant and re do it with new.

Clorox cleanup. I have the same problem with mine. Spray some on the mildew and let it sit for a long time. Usually cleans it up. You might have to re spray it...But it will work.Trust me!

I agree with above answers but I would like to add one thing.
Caution: When you use any product with bleach in it to clean your plumbing fixtures, always run lots of cold water to flush it away to the street, well past your housepipes after you are finished cleaning. Some of my pipes were eroded by bleach and had to be replaced because I failed to do this after cleaning. The bleach is so strong it will also pit porcelain after awhile. A co-worker had a habit of using it in her toilet bowl and it pitted the porcelain surface.

Any cleaner with bleach & some elbow grease. May have to repeat a couple times to get it out if it's that bad. Make sure you have lots of good venelation-no need to inhale all those bleach fumes..
