For the driver or kids or other adult passengers....
driver, count different types of cars, listen to books on DVD or cassette
Kids, coloring, cards, movies, hand held games, count train cars, read books
adults, read, games, movies, count how many tail light are out (if it is dark) look for specific license plates
Be creative...

wait till everyone is asleep...... of course not the driver. hahahha . but keep one eye open and when ever you pass a billboard for a macdonalds scream AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THE FAT MAN IS GOING TO EAT ME at the top of your lungs.
moon the people you pass. wave to the people you pass, call the people on their cell phones when you pass them . lol eye spy.... rock out to music. oh and you can sleep too..

well if your driving it would be to watch the road .... if not ... it depends where you are going.... this long trip might be in the desert so please define long trip to where from where
