The first time was a scandal, because Gore should have won. And those who voted for Bush are idots. The second time, we were in the middle of a potential war and it was too risky to switch powers. But I hope and pray that a democrat takes over in 2008. I think it is going to be one of the most anticipated election years ever!

People are caught up in the emotion of the moment. Since the Republicans have a better election strategy and more advertising dollar to brain wash the average person it is no surprise that Bush won. It is sad but it is the way things work now day. You get a politician with a big name package him with propaganda and you get him or her elected for the special interest to cash in and pay for the entire hoop la in the first place.

The people did not elect him in 2000. He stole the vote through a ruling by the Supreme Court. His re-election is still a mystery to me, but I think he won through the fundamentalist Christian vote and on morals, which morals should not be governed. There is supposed to be a seperation between church and state.

The United States is run by the military industrial complex(19% of the american economy) and the multinationals...and they are Bush's biggest supporters. They account for over 20% of american jobs.So there is 20% of voters right off.Add to that the Christian right and Bush cannot help but be elected.

The first time out of stupidity and the second out of fear. But of course we didn't elect him the first time. The Supreme Court appointed him.
And by the way, Ghost, Bush's second election victory was FAR from the widest popular OR electoral margin ever. It was fairly narrow in both categories. Look at Johnson over Goldwater in 1964, or Reagan over Mondale in 1984, or Nixon over McGovern in 1972 if you want to see wide electoral margins. Bush barely squeaked in in 2004. He LOST the popular vote in 2000, nobody disputes that, and he only won the electoral vote because the votes were not counted properly in Florida.

I didn't elect him. 5 members of the Supreme court appointed him and the Ohio board of elections gave him the '04 election. Oh, and Lieberman for Democratic VP didn't help.
Go Howard Dean!

These have all been very good and interesting answers. I concur with most of you when you say that the supreme court appointed him. We the people never had a chance. Our votes are meaningless. The electoral votes are what decides who is going to be our next president. The reason "WE" reelected him is because the president knew that we would not switch presidents while there was a war going on. That is why he started it.

It is called a election, the majorty rules. when Demos win Republicans grip about it too. when it comes down to it, no one has ever satisfied all the people. So deal with it, And vote in the next election.

Because there are still people who like him and must not actually listen to him when he talks. At least he can't get re-elected for another term. Maybe the next President can clean up the mess he's gotten us into.

Some will have you believe because we don't like balanced budgets and very strong accountable effective defense. Heard the figure all you need is five more votes in each voting place to win. First time he got 2 and a half, because Republicans were able somehow to link Gore with what Clinton did in oval office and I believe his running mate stiffed him. Supreme court appointed him thou in tie congress would have. Secound time Democrats did not go with Howard Dean.
