I really want to make a website!

You need to have a computer that is connected to the internet.
What you would like to have is a web server and a registered domain name so you can have your site at "yourdomain.com"
You can register a domain name with Yahoo! for $1.99 for the first year.
There are a lot of webhosts out there including Yahoo!. I personally user DreamHost.com. They cost me something like $5.00 a month and I have basically unlimited transfer and 20GB of web space, unlimited databases, unlimitted emails and unlimited hosted domains. You even get a free domain name when you sign up.
They have some one click installs to start a blog, forum, e-commerce store, wiki, and more which will get you started quick.
If you want to create a cool website, but dont' know anything about programming, I would check out http://www.opensourcecms.com
They have hundredes of open source(free) web applicationn, content management systems, gallers, and more that you can test online and download for free.
Hopefully that gets you started.

First, you need a website address and host.
(More details at http://www.godaddy.com)
Then you need to build the web page using html.
There are many programs that will assist you in making the actual page. Do a Yahoo search for "html editors"

You need a server, a gigabit switch, a screen, internet connection, html software, domain name, and a operating system...
Or if you don't want to do all that, just try at "website creating" websites like godaddy.com or bravenet.com , you will need to pay a 1-time fee to register the domain name (URL) like yahoo.com or whatever, and you will have to pay montly for the people to host the website...if you don't want to pay for a domain name, you can register with bravenet.com, but your domain name will be something like yournamehere.bravenet.com, and there will be ad's on it.

Microsoft (free domain and hosting for life) ,
Google (Googlepages, Blogger) ,
Yahoo (Geocities),
Freewebs are some of the companies offering free websites with design tools .

well u dont need anything really. most people take a course but there is a website that will make u ur own website. i forgot the URL but if u go to www.miniclip.com play a cowboy game its ALWAYS advirtised there.

You need
1 Host & Domain name
2. A program with which you will design webpage offline, then upload it online to your host. (E.g Microsoft Frontpage).
You can get a free sub-domain name with hosting (e.g www.you.netfirms.com) at www.netfirms.com . go to their free hosting section to apply.
About using microsoft frontpage, search google for frontpage tutorials.
