Talladega Nights has it funny moments, but this is for the people who just want to have fun and watch a good comedy. It's not as good as "Anchorman" but it still respectable enough to watch. Of course, when the movie has John C. Reilly, Michael Clark Duncan, and Amy Adams, it's bound to have some good moments in the movie. I was disappointed that Reilly and Adams didn't have enough screen time in the movie because they're both well established dramatic actors venturing into an unknown territory in their career, but it was a Will Ferrell movie, so it was expected. Of course the scene stealers in the movie were Sasha Baron Cohen and Gary Cole, who plays the french race driver and the drunken dad, respectively. Cohen, who no stranger to comedy (his upcoming film, Borat, was based on a character from his Ali G show on HBO), plays the french driver very well for a british person and holds nothing about the french (he like jazz, likes to read, be cocky, heavy french accent, everything on his racing car is french, has a husband played by Andy Ritcher) but like everybody else, has limited screen time in the film. Cole (Mike Brady from the Brady Bunch movies) also serves well as Ricky's father, Reese, who always drunk half the time and never loves his family, especially his ex-wife. But the one star that holds the glue to this movie was Jane Lynch, who plays Ricky's mother. She was the one who has to raise Ricky when her husband abandon them and puts a strong will in her character as she tries to bring the family back together. The story is driven like any other comedy you see all the time and although it's not going to be good as "The 40 Year Old Virgin", it still resepectable enough to have fun and enjoy the rauchy comedy that Leno & Roeper gave it "Two Big Thumbs Up".

I haven't seen it yet so I can't say, but you might want to check out Rotten Tomatoes. Their reviews are absolutely brutal. You'll know exactly what you're getting into. If something even has a mediocre score on there you can be sure it's at least entertaining.

Its the typical garbage that hollywood has been putting out. More agenda oriented then funny. If you have morals and good taste your better off skipping it.
